Buckley is what he is.

Here's some pictures of me and Poohbie at one of my swim therapy sessions. I let Poohbie come this time as long as he doesn't hog all the
attention. This is supposed to be about me! But Luis and Mary always treat
me right. I hardly ever growl at them anymore. Notice the 3rd picture down, when I'm getting my massage. Ahhhhhh, right there,
Oh ya. That's sooooooo good.

Nanny thinks this is a very handsome picture of me. So I wanted to show it to everybody. I think it is one of my better shots. Kind of distinguished looking, if I do say so myself. The goofy dog floatie in the background kind of ruins it for a passport picture though. Maybe they can airbrush that out.

This is a picture of poohbie before he had all his choppers pulled out. Yeah, he had 12 teeth pulled last week. He was out of it for a couple of days, laying on the couch, looking pathetic. Even more so than usual! I didn't think he'd have any teeth left. I said "Instead of Pooh bear, we'll have to start calling him Gummy bear", nyuk, nyuk. But I got a look in there yesterday and he's still got some teeth. He can still eat his chicken, ok. He's doing a lot
better now. He's got his old energy back. He'll be fine.

Oh yeah, here's the massage. Almost as good as eating chicken, .....or biting a stranger.
Happy Thanksgiving everybody! I'm planning on getting me some of that turkey this year. I'm working on my 'poor little doggie with only 2 good legs' look. Works every time.
Here's a video of me fogging up the lense while Bo is doing his 'running back and forth' thing. When I get a tennis ball, I just hold onto it and dare you to try and take it away from me. I don't need all that running around. Like the cable guy says on the fios commercial, 'Seems dumb.'

MAX! This was supposed to be about the mountains. What are you doing in here? He is always sneaking into the shot. Now he sneaked a whole picture by me. The first picture was taken from Mt Crawford 9/9. The middle picture was on the way down from Jackson and Webster 9/4.
And then there's Max, squeezing into a little bed in my apartment.
This is Ralph, the dog that Bill met on the Crawford/Stairs trip.

The Patriots weren't looking very good so far this year. So this past weekend Max and I wore our Patriot bandanas for the game, and it worked. They looked much better this week. We're going to keep them on all week, so there won't be any problems this weekend.

Now let's see if I can upload a video of playtime in our secret spot.

Wow! It worked! Bo is starting to catch the tennis ball in the air, on the 1 bounce.

Here's the video of Bo and Max on North Twin.

Yes, I know it's been a long time. Summer's craziness is finally over and things are settling down here, a little, in late summer and now offically fall! Yesterday I went swimming as you can see. I love playing with my Scuba Man. I could swim after him all day. I wish they'd let me chew his arms off.
Bill finally did some hiking and took some nice pictures and videos as you can and will see. Nice picture from Mt. Crawford of Giant Stairs, and Washington in the background -9/9/09.

Bill had to hike alone during his vacation, because his STUPID timeshare doesn't allow dogs! Hello! It's the 21st century, WAKE UP!!!! But he finally found time to bring Max and Bo on a hike this past week. Bo's 2nd 4000 footer, North Twin, 4761 ft. #12 on the elevation list.
Wish I could show you the video but it's taking forever to upload. think I'll have to cancel. Sorry, no pictures on top of N. Twin, all video. I'll try again later.

Time for my beauty rest. Just wanted to show everybody pictures of ME!

First Hike of '09

Max and Bo went on a hike on Sunday. They hiked over 10 miles to Flat Mountain Pond in New Hampshire. Max went a little crazy with all the water. Bo just went along and took everything in and was very tired when they finished.

Here are some videos of their day. First the destination.

And some more of the pond.

Max has more fun in the streams along the way.

He almost got swept away in this one.

Lucky dogs.

But I don't think I'd want to walk over 10 miles in the mountains. That's just crazy. I think I'll just nap under my couch all day and check out the video when they get back.

The Sun is Back! (and seashore 4th)

Two dogs sitting in the back yard. Big brother and little brother, tagging along.

Well the sun is back, at least for now. So we got to use our back yard today.

In fact the weather was so perfect, with a nice cool breeze, that after a few morning chores, we decided to just relax and enjoy the perfect weather for a change.

And sometimes I use my cart in the back yard too.

And if you want to know what we did on the 4th of July, well here's some video(sorry we didn't make it down to Buzzard's Bay, one of these days.......)

And here's one more 4th video. Bo may be the fastest and best fetching dog on land, but when it comes to water, NOBODY! can touch Max the Golden (that's why I'm here) Retriever.

Poohbie and the sun again!

So there's one more member of my pack that I haven't introduced. This is Poohbie. He doesn't do a whole lot. Sleeps on the couch a lot. Grabs all the attention so us other dogs have to squeeze in to get our rubbings and scratchings from people. He doesn't even go on walks with us. He might get tired. He doesn't chase tennis balls either. I don't know why they think he's so special.
But the big news is that the sun was out today. Really! Didn't you see it? It was just like the old days, before it started looking like Seattle around here. The sun was out all day, so after Bill finished 'working', we went over to the rocks for a nice walk.

And some walking in the park.

That's all for today. Maybe if the sun sticks around, we can go out and do something different this weekend.

NEW Stuff

Here is a picture of the NEW bed that Melly just brought home for me today. I think it's just the right size for me. Nobody else.
And here's a picture of me with my NEW pirate neck-thing. I like the idea of being a pirate. I think I could be the perfect pirate, I don't like anybody. Arrrrgh.
Congratulations to Kristin and Doug on the NEW house. I hear it's awesome. I'd like to come over for a cookout and check out that nice backyard. I like hotdogs, chicken and just about any dog treat you got.

Yesterday, Bill and Donna went to Barkaroundtheworld in Syracuse NY. So I'm letting them put up some pictures from the event. I didn't get to go, but Bo and Poohby were there. It's a big get-together of all these dog rescue groups and there's all kinds of dogs there. There were over 100 dogs there, easy. And lots of people who just want to help dogs. There were speakers during the day and all kinds of good stuff there. So here are some pictures. Oh, and those big dudes with the Tatoos, that's Rescue Ink. They came up from NY City, and they're going to be famous soon. Check out their website rescueink.org.

Today was just a great day to be outside after a couple of hot days. So Max and I posed in front of these flowers. Bill worked around the yard a little and tossed the ball for those other dogs. It's Memorial Day Weekend and I think we'll just stay close to home and take it easy for a few days.
Hey, watch Max jumping at the door and running to get outside to play. What a goofball!

Happy Beginning of Summer everybody!

Bo and Max like to play fetch. I don't. I'm a terrier!

Well, unless I can go swimming. Then I might fetch a little.

Saturday, May 16, 2009

Yesterday I went for my swim therapy and had to swim in their tank for a half hour. Dog, was I tired! But I got to see my Melly and she even slept over with me. She let's me sleep in her bed right next to her which is awesome! If she's not here I have to sleep in my own dog bed next to Bill's bed. He won't let me get on his bed. He's got issues.

Then today we went over to the rocks and water. We haven't been over there for a long time. Max always runs into the water first. He's nuts about water, any water. Ocean or puddle, he doesn't care. It was a neat adventure for today. It was a little foggy on the water. Oh, you probably noticed my wheels. I have to put on my wheels if I want to go very far. You see, I had a bad adventure one time, and now my back legs don't really work. They spasm a little but they can't walk anymore. I'll tell you about that little adventure some other time. I don't think about it very much. I'm a terrier dog. I'm moving forward. So look out for me or I'll snap at your ankles on the way by.

I was watching for that strange dog today. He wasn't around though. Lucky for him. See how I put on my fierce terrier face for my picture? Bill worked from home today so that means we get to hang out with him all day in my apartment where he works. 'We' means me and Bo. We hang out with Bill the most. I guess I should introduce some of my pack. This is Bo dog. He's been with us for about a year and a half now. They say he was rescued from a puppy mill. I don't know what that is, but I know it isn't good. He's a bit high strung. Sometimes he starts barking at things, even before I do. And I'm a good barker! I let my people know when anything weird is going on. No strangers are going to sneak into THIS house. Not on MY watch. Just let 'em try. I haven't been able to sink my teeth into a stranger yet, but there's always tomorrow. Anyway, back to Bo. I don't like many other dogs, but Bo's OK. I leave him alone most of the time. He knows who's in charge here but still sticks up for himself in his own ways. He'll take my chewie when I just get up to take a drink. And sometimes I'll let him have it for a while. He knows. If I want it, it's MINE.

Tuesday, May 12, 2009

Oh Man! I was really upset today. There was a strange black dog in my yard today. Practically right outside my door. I would'a showed him if I could have gotten outside, but Bill wouldn't let me out. He kept saying it was OK. But it wasn't. He peed in my yard! (the dog, not Bill). The rest of the day was OK. We walked over to the yard across the street and played for a while after supper. I love it when I can scratch my back.

I, Buckley

My name is Buckley and I don't like strangers. Or strange dogs. Or cats or ferrets either. Who in their right mind would want to keep a bunch of filthy weasels in their home?! Sometimes I don't understand humans at all. I'd like to grab those ferrets and shake 'em and bite them kill them. GRRRrrrrrrRRRRRRR!!! I can't help it. You see, I'm a terrier! My humans did some kind of test and they think I've got other breeds mixed into me. But I'm telling you they're nuts. I'm all terrier. Just look at me! Do I look like a Shih-Tzu to you? I'd like to get my teeth on those dumb test people. I'll shred their ankles and then we'll see who's calling who a Shih-Tzu!

OK, sorry, I have a tendency to get carried away. I'm a little intense at times. Hey, I'm a terrier, remember?

Heard a good joke on the radio yesterday. You know why Manny Ramirez was taking that female fertility drug? Because he's going through Mannypause. Ha, ha, ha, ha.
